A spontaneous demonstration by the NGO alliance "TckTckTck" on Wed 9th in the "Bella Center" ended by UN-Security staff taking the data of two spokespersons and forcing a journalist to delete her photos. About 30 members of different NGO groups gathered spontanously yesterday in front of the plenary hall demanding their participation in the plenary meetings. "We are the first ones concerned by climate change; that's why we want to join the debate right from the beginning. You can only seal a real deal if we participate in the negotiations", said Ashwini Prabha from the Fiji-Islands in allusion to the UN-Campaign "Seal the Deal". At the end of the demonstration three UN-Security-Staff members approached and took the data of Prabha and a second demonstrator who wants to stay anonymious. "We need to know who is demonstrating here and check if we can allow the demonstration", one of the men stated. A journalist who took photos of the scene was forced to delete them.
Fortunately (and curiously!) they didn't notice my camera...
Auf einer spontanen Demonstration im Kopenhagener Konferenzzentrum "Bella Center" haben UN-Mitarbeiter die Daten von zwei Demonstranten aufgenommen. Eine Journalistin, die die Szene fotografierte, wurde gezwungen das Foto zu loeschen. Rund 30 Umweltaktivisten vom Buendnis "TckTckTck" haben sich am Mittwoch gegen 15.30 Uhr unter dem Aufgang zum Plenarsaal "Tycho Brahe" versammelt, um ihre Zulassung zu den Vollversammlungen zu fordern. "Wir sind als Erste vom Klimawandel betroffen; daher wollen wir auch von Anfang an mitreden. Nur mit uns kann es einen richtigen Deal gibt!" rief Ashwini Prabha von den Fidschi-Inseln in Anspielung auf die UN-Kampagne "Seal the Deal". Am Ende der Demonatration naeherten sich drei UN-Sicherheitsbeamte und notierten ihre Personalien in einen dicken Block. "Wir müssen wissen, wer hier demonstriert und pruefen, ob wir diese Demonstration genehmigen koennen", sagte einer der Maenner.
